TCP/IP Help for Computers Running the
Macintosh Operating System

 

The TCP/IP Control Panel is accessed via the Apple Menu in the upper left of your screen, inside Control Panels. If you do not have TCP/IP, but have MacTCP instead, click here.

( 1a ) Click on the arrows on the right side of the "Connect via:" menu to open the menu. When the menu pops up, select "PPP."

( 1b ) If you do not find "PPP" listed, but find "MacPPP" or "FreePPP" in the "Connect via:" menu, select one of those instead.

( 2 ) Click on the arrows on the right side of the "Configure:" menu to open the menu. When the menu pops up, select "Using PPP Server."

( 3 ) Click in the box to the right of "Name server addr.:." Type in the following numbers, separated by periods (.):

207.167.112.8
On the following line, type:

207.167.112.9

( 4 ) Click in the box below "Search domains:." Type in the following:

simplyweb.net

( 5 ) Close the TCP/IP Control Panel by clicking in the box in the upper left corner of the window. When prompted "Save changes to the current configuration?", click "Save."

 

( 6 ) You will also need to configure your internet dialer Control Panel (e.g. PPP, Remote Access, ConfigPPP, or FreePPP). Select your dialer from the table below, or go to General Macintosh Help for instructions on how to find out what dialer you have.
